Language / Locale
This is the main/default language of your collection.
In case you’ll be using multiple languages, think of it as the default value for any new post, or the default language if we cannot detect the User’s language (e-g: search spiders).
Note: Only locales that are installed in the Locales Settings can be selected.
- By default, when a user visits your collection, b2evolution will show navigation links (such as "Next post", "Previous post", etc…) in the language/locale of the collection (as defined above).
- Alternatively, you can instruct b2evolution to use the user’s locale instead. This will be determined from the User account (if User is logged in) or from the HTTP headers sent by the web browser (if User is not logged in).

Each post can be written in a different language/locale. So, in the context of a post, should b2evolution display strings like "Read more" or "Leave a comment":

This allows to select the default locale used when you create a new Item.
Using multiple languages in a single collection
b2evolution 6.9.3 does not currently support filtering posts to only display posts of a specific language. This might be added in a later version. This has to be weighed against the alternative of using a different collection for each language and cross-linking the posts.
