Intro posts and featured posts both appear before regular posts on skins that support this feature. This feature requires that your skin implements get_featured_Item().

Intro Posts

Intro posts are posts with a special Item Type like "Intro-Main" or "Intro-Cat".

Only one intro post will be displayed on a given view of the collection, depending on what is requested. For example, the "Intro-Main" post will appear on top of the main page of the collection. An "Intro-Cat" post will appear on top of the category pages it has been assigned to. However, no other intro post will ever be displayed in the regular flow of posts. See Item Contents Panel for details about choosing an Intro post type.

Intro posts can also be displayed in various places in your site by using a widget like the Featured/Intro Post Widget.

Featured Posts

Featured posts are regular posts but they can be displayed in special places:

• Featured posts can also be featured on the home page, sidebar, etc. by using a widget like Featured Posts Widget, Simple Post List Widget, Featured/Intro Post Widget, etc.

• One of the featured posts can also be displayed on top of the normal post list display (enable this is in Post List Panel). In that case, that post will not be repeated in the normal flow of posts underneath. However, other/older posts with the "featured" box checked will still be displayed in the regular flow of posts.
