Hmmm, having problems with this. I log on as an admin, click the edit button and I still only get the Group & Users part of the page, but no user profile. If I log in as the user I can see the user profile. Any idea what is up? I am using b2evolution 0.9.0.10.

Played around with some network settings, but seems to be working OK. Not sure what exactly fixed the problem.

Is there anyway to give every user that registers their own blog automatically and automatically allow them to post to it without my interaction?

Thanks,

Login as admin and then go to the Users tab. Create a new group and assign it whatever privs you want new users to have. Next, go to the settings screen. Change
Group for new users: to the new group. Done.

I can’t seem to change the Group setting under User Profiles. Each time I go to a user profile, make changes and click Save, it returns a message that the "New User Was Not Created, Do you want to edit user profile" with a link back to the same user profile. If I try it again, I get the same message. Do I have to delete the user and recreate them myself with the new group? Doesn’t seem right.

I installed B2 but new users (set to bloggers) can only post comments. Is there a way for "bloggers" to actually start new threads?

Hi,

I use the b2evo 0.9.0.12, so when I register a new Administrator User, level 10, etc. The user can’t make or edit posts.
I make a copy of admin user too, but the result is the same.
The user access throw /admin/login page, and the menssage in the Write and Edit is: You need authorization, write a mail, bla, bla.

Anybody knows what happen?

Tnx a lot.

Go to Blogs/Rights and include de correct permissions for the users.

Tnx.

You have to go to your blogs folder and then click the blog if you want to put the user to post. And the you have to go to permissions and then you have to click all the box you want your user to do but you have to read what is it if you dont want the user don’t tick the box.

I can see that somebody want people put questions in the forum. I agree. But the reason people ask questions here is that the guide has weak areas. So it would be nice if someone integrated the answers in the guides and in this way made better guides.

I have a problem with user acces.
All works fine when I’m connected as ‘admin’ but with any other user login (event all permission setted ) I cannot post comments without crashing apache.
The only solution to make it again works fine is to restart apache.
Any suggestion what’s going wrong ?
The strange thing is that after the restart of apache I can read the comment that the user have written.

I get this message when log in as user!

"Als Neuling musst du warten, bis ein Admin dich authorisiert, Einträge zu erstellen. Du kannst auch dem Admin eine EMail schreiben. Wenn du befördert wurdest, brauchst du nur diese Seite neu zu laden und solltest bloggen können. :) "

" It means a new user hast to be authorisiert by admin.

How can i do that?

When you install b2evo from scratch, there are 2 users created for you.
The admin, and a Mr Demo.
The admin is.. well.. the admin..

But what about letting other users register on your blog ?
Your spouce, friend(s), all the people in your class/workplace…

How to make it that they can actually post ?

Let them register, of register them yourself.
Decide in with blog you want your new members can post.
(Yes, you have to grant them rights for every blog that you have. By default they have no rights at all, and they will continue seeing this message : Since you’re a newcomer, you’ll have to wait for an admin to authorize you to post. You can also e-mail the admin to ask for a promotion. When you’re promoted, just reload this page and you’ll be able to blog.)

In the backoffice click on the tab ‘Blogs’
Choose the blog you want to alter
Click on the tab ‘permissions’
Check the permissions you want the user to have.
Click Save.

All this is REALLY on the b2evo forum!
