Textile 2

Posted by fplanque on Jul 13, 2003 in New features

Textile 2 beta is out.

I have indeed included support for Textile in b2evolution 0.8.2 a few weeks ago... so I guess I'll soon have to come back there and replace it with textile 2 :P

Valid blogging :!:

Posted by fplanque on Jul 12, 2003 in New features

If you are a web-standards supporting -- or even just a web-standards aware -- blogger, you probably have a "Valid XHTML" button somewhere on your blog template...

But, after each new post, do you actually take the time to validate the new blog page in order to make sure no typo sneaked in and ruined your otherwise so pure XHTML markup? U-(

Even worse, what happens when an unscrupulous reader leaves a comment, using the best tagsoup he could ever produce in a miserable attempt to make his contribution look better?

Of course, you filter some tags, you probably remove undesired ones, you even close unmatched opening tags... but what do you do when presented with some syntaxic nightmare like <strong href="junk"> hello <ul> <blockquote> <li> world </strong> ? 88|

There's only one solution: integrate an XHTML validator into your blogtool!

b2evolution does integrate this, starting with version 0.8.2 which will be available shortly!

In the meantime, if you wish, you can try out the validator using the comment field for this post... ;)

b2evolution news blog

Posted by fplanque on Jul 10, 2003 in b2evolution.net

For a long time, this website has just been a placeholder with links to download and forums...

Sorry I had no time taking care of it before... I had so much work on b2evolution itself... XX(

Finally, I'm taking a little break to build up a somewhat better site here. Hope you like it! ;) As you may have noticed, I took some great inspiration from Sabrina's evoskins.org B)

Also, this here is the new official news blog for b2evolution. You'll find links to the RSS feeds at the bottom of this page, so hurry up and make sure you don't miss a thing: add this to your news aggregator!

PS: have you noticed my new Ben & Jerry's inspired tagline? :P

b2evolution 0.8.2 sneak preview :)

Posted by fplanque on Jul 09, 2003 in New releases

b2evolution version 0.8.2 is on its way…

You can get a sneak preview here: http://b2evolution.net/demo/

There are 42 enhancements over the last public release. Can you find them all ?

PS: this is Release Candidate 1, so expect one or two little bugs… but they should be even harder to find than the last 2 enhancements… at least I hope so :P

Update: some kid must have found it funny to change the password for the demouser allowing you to access the backoffice… Bleh! :-/ It’s back now… with a lock so it doesn’t get changed again… This is sooo lame…

Blogguer valide :!:

Posted by fplanque on 06 Jul 2003 in New features
