Does anyone know a good PHP/mySQL bug/requests-for-enhancements tracking system?


I originaly wanted to install BugZilla but this one requires Perl and its latest modules... thus it won't run on any of my hosts, which are shared hosts, including b2evolution.net :-/


All of the PHP trackers I saw don't seem to be much more advanced than the basic SourceForge utilities... :|


Hum... I guess this is another one of my "I want more" fantasies... :roll: Well, you know how this is going to end up again? ;D

By popular demand, a complete localization toolkit for b2evolution has been alpha released.


French and Japanese are already available. Dutch and Sweedish have partial translations. Brazilian Portuguese is in the works...


I count on you to produce a language files galore for the next release! ;D

One of the most significative enhancements in 0.8.2 is the revamped browsing & posting interface in the backoffice. You can check it out in the online demo.

Browsing your already written posts is now much easier. You can either navigate using the calendar or using powerful filtering options that can all be combined for even more control:

• only show past/future posts;
• only show draft/published posts;
• only show posts containing specific keywords (AND, OR, sentence);
• only show posts from a specific month;
• only show posts from specific categories.

Accessing your previous posts to edit them has never been easier! :)

Posting new or editing existing posts also benefit from a new screen layout making it much easier to select the main and additional categories in the whole hierarchy of available subcategories.

b2evo has been supporting multiple blogs for some time now. What’s new about version 0.8.2 is that you can now embed multiple blogs in the same page. You’ll find a demo displaying no less than 3 blogs on the index.php page in the distribution. :!:

Why would one want that, you may ask… :?:

Well, it actually starts to be interesting when each blog has a different purpose. For example, you could have the first one being your main blog, the second one being a calendar of upcoming events and the third one being your blogroll.

Speaking about blogrolls: b2evolution’s approach is to consider a blogroll just another form of a blog. It is a collection of items with title, description and link… The main difference being that you don’t usually display blogrolls by date like regular blogs, you just sort them alphabetically.

Of course, blogrolls benefit from all other b2evo’s blog features, like multiple and sub categories! And yes, you can even sort by category first, and then alphabetically in each category. Default 0.8.2 templates include such blogrolls by default.

Textile 2 beta is out.


I have indeed included support for Textile in b2evolution 0.8.2 a few weeks ago... so I guess I'll soon have to come back there and replace it with textile 2 :P

If you are a web-standards supporting -- or even just a web-standards aware -- blogger, you probably have a "Valid XHTML" button somewhere on your blog template...


But, after each new post, do you actually take the time to validate the new blog page in order to make sure no typo sneaked in and ruined your otherwise so pure XHTML markup? U-(


Even worse, what happens when an unscrupulous reader leaves a comment, using the best tagsoup he could ever produce in a miserable attempt to make his contribution look better? :no:


Of course, you filter some tags, you probably remove undesired ones, you even close unmatched opening tags... but what do you do when presented with some syntaxic nightmare like <strong href="junk"> hello <ul> <blockquote> <li> world </strong> ? 88|


There's only one solution: integrate an XHTML validator into your blogtool!


b2evolution does integrate this, starting with version 0.8.2 which will be available shortly!
