Yes, Mantis is the best PHP tracker I’ve found during my search. Though it has more options, I did not find it offering more value than SourceForge’s trackers…
For example I think when you log in the first thing you should see, without clicking any further, is a list of the bugs assigne to you, followed by a list of the unassigned bugs with most highest priority first.
On the other hand Mantis has this color coding about task status that SF trackers really lack.
Anyway, I am going to look at Mantis a little closer and see how it can be customized.

And what about spray ? it’s the bug tracker written for the psi Jabber client. Check out psi.affinix.com

The Psi site seems to be fubared at the moment, but the site for the tracker, actually called Flyspray, is here: http://flyspray.rocks.cc/

Okay, I’ve done a test install of FlySpray. (PHPopentracker is irrelevant)
I can’t say I like the tracker on SourceForge. FlySpray looks much better. Unfortunately, it has quite a few annoying bugs and lacks some functions available on SF; restricting to things to be done for the next version, for example.
I have been hesitating a while, was about switching, and finaly decided that it wasn’t worth the time of copy/pasting over existing tasks.
Now, until something comes out that really kicks ass, we’re going to stay with SourceForge. :P

I’m the lead Flyspray developer. Which annoying bugs are preventing you using it for your project?
Comment from: François PLANQUE
Tony, first there’s the backoffice options that are pretty obviously broken in 0.9.4. Then I also has to turn of PHP notices to get all those annoing messages away.
I’ll try to tell you more by mail…

I don’t know what you mean by backoffice, but I know which php notices you’re talking about. Only one person had reported it to me, so I’d assumed that it was a mis-configuration in their php. Perhaps there’s something that we can do to stop it occuring for those few people…
I look forward to reading your email when I finish work in the morning. Also note that Flyspray now has a mailing list. Look for the link near the top of the website.

By backoffice, I mean the functions reserved to the administrator, allowing you to set options, categories, etc… as I explained in the mail I have sent you (actually to the address you gave me which is the mailing list).
The notices are not due to a misconfiguration. They are due to a strict configuration. Actually, the misconfiguration would be not to have PHP notices enabled on development platforms! :P I had the same problem with b2evolution some time ago…

Note to self: Turn on notices.
Note to Francois: I might have my box back online sooner than anticipated. Stay tuned.
What about Mantis ? http://mantisbt.sourceforge.net/
