Blog by email
Blog by email option allows you posting blog content by sending emails to a pre-defined email account. If the ‘blog by email’ button is selected, more parameters should be set to allow b2evo accessing a dedicated email account looking for the new posts you sent there.
For instance, you can define a new Gmail account and use it as a source for your blog post. Obviously, you have to keep this account very secure and moderate any spam that might come there since this spam can be treated by b2evo as your original blog posts. Note "subject prefix" option below which helps to exclude unwanted messages.
Retrieval method: POP3 or IMAP, depending on what your server understands.
Mail server: <DNS-name-of-your-mail-server> (e.g. mail.mydomain.net)
Port number: <port-for-the-selected-protocol-on-your-server> (e.g. 995 if you go POP3 with Gmail)
Account name: <email-address-b2evo-should-access> (e.g. very.secure.blogposts.email.address@mydomain.net)
Password: <password-to-access-email-account-above>
Category ID: <default-category-id> which b2evo will set up for each post it retrieves from the given email account
Subject prefix: <prefix> - A security add-on - only emails with subject starting with such prefix will be retrieved and posted. Highly recommended to avoid posting spam messages that may appear in your email
and .. when will the mail that sent, be posted in my b2evolution page ?
thx
