HELP WANTED: get paid for custom b2evo skins & development

Permalink March 24, 2008 @ 00:37, by Francois Planque • Category: Community

I am getting more and more requests for custom work around b2evolution. The problem is I cannot do it. Even if it's well paid!

I am overbooked big time! So are the other b2evolution developers. Plus, I absolutely want to save time for working on general development of b2evolution.

So I want to pass those leads out to you! If you have some decent experience with b2evolution and you are looking for freelance work, either design or development/programming, or if you have a custom development company offering those services, please let me know. Send me an email or leave a comment. Let me also know if you'd like to be listed publicly.

The most common requests I get are variations of the following:

  • Can you design a skin matching my current site?
  • Can you port/convert my WordPress theme to b2evolution?
  • Can you help me with installation on my server?
  • Can you help me integrate my blog(s) into my site?
  • Can you program a plugin to do x, y or z?
  • Can you help me optimize my site?

Again, if you can do any of these, I have clients for you! Drop me a line! ;)

Note: You have to discuss the details and prices with the clients yourself. I'm just passing leads to you (for free!) and then I'm out of the loop.

Edit: I have created a page listing b2evolution professionals. I will send all my leads contacts to this page and let them decide for themselves. Instructions to be listed are included on that page. ;)

SxSW (powered by b2evolution)

Permalink March 8, 2008 @ 02:24, by Francois Planque • Category: Community

I'm currently at SxSW in Austin Texas. It was on my way back to France ;) If you're around and want to meet up, please contact me.

The SxSW website is actually powered by b2evolution (with no less than 9 blogs throughout the entire site) but they wouldn't advertise that publicly. Nor did they actually invite me here. Sadly enough, the first panel I attended here was titled "Respect!". Yeah, right...

Anyway, this is already more than enough publicity for them. But as said, I'll be happy to meet you if you're here! :)

Other than that, I'll be back home and will get some releasing done as soon as I recover from jet lag :P

b2evolution Meetups? / BlogWorldExpo

Permalink October 14, 2007 @ 00:09, by Francois Planque • Category: Community

I’ll be in the US in November. More specifically:

  • Seattle on October 31st & November 1st
  • Los Angeles from November 3rd to 5th
  • Las Vegas during BlogWorldExpo (November 7th to 9th)

If you would like to meet up and talk about b2evolution (or the true meaning of life — not to say both are (necessarily) related), please contact me or leave a comment :)

(and obviously, I’ll be back in Paris after that ;))

Wow! b2evolution 2.0 has just released, and it's alpha and everything... yet Globat is already offering it as a 1-click install feature in their hosting packages.

Very nice! B)

If you're looking for a new host, you might want to check them out! ;)

Skin & plugin galore

Permalink May 12, 2007 @ 17:10, by Francois Planque • Category: Community

I keep getting emails about this: YES you can install the new Miami Blue skin on b2evo 1.9 if you want to use it without upgrading to b2evo 1.10 yet.

Just download the skin here, unzip it in your /skins folder and then select in the the Blog settings.

We also have 52 downloadable skins for b2evolution 1.9 on the skins site right now. And let me repeat that: skins designed for 1.9 will also work on 1.10 B)

We also have an equal number of plugins to download on the plugins site.

Both the skins & plugin sites gave been moved to our new b2evo community server which makes them run significantly faster than they used to. Many thanks to Danny for the migration and to our generous donors who help us pay for the servers.

Just for fun ;)

After the W3C, we're also proud to mention that Novell is using b2evolution for their PR blogs. B)

I wish those other large entities using b2evo would step forward! ;)
