b2evo 2.0.1 "Navy Pier" released!

Permalink September 18, 2007 @ 04:22, by Francois Planque • Category: New releases

If you ever visit Chicago, chances are you're going to stop at Navy Pier... ;)

Here's 2.0 "Chicago" enhanced: Download 2.0.1 "Navy Pier"!

Basically, there's been no major show stopper bug in 2.0.0 but we have fixed a lot of little annoying things. If you're happy with 2.0.0, no urge to upgrade. But no real reason to hold back either ;)

  • Fixed Movable Type importer.
  • Display/CSS improvements.
  • i18n preparation (fr & de included).
  • Skin tag update: Item::feedback_link() now uses array params.
  • Plenty of little fixes. Plenty!

Forget about photoblogging, b2evolution makes posting a simple snap difficult.

If you take a look at any blog/site out there, you see photos and text intermingled. I don't see any easy way to upload a few images and post medium or small thumbnails.

There are a lot of features, but what about ease of use... just simple, common daily blogs!

Posting snaps is as difficult as going to the file/upload manager, checking the snaps you want to publish and click on "Make posts".

I do agree about ease of use for intermingling thumbnails with text. That is a high priority on our todo list.

Francois>jus thinking out aloud.

I've been using Scott Kilmer's PZ for a while now. Why not integrate it into b2evo ? Probably add a button to the Advanced "write" menu.

More details here

Cheers... Great job...

Is the upgrade from 1.10.2 easy? Am quite new with b2evo and have deployed blog 2 months ago, wouldn't like for a complete redo of all config....

The upgrade of the software is super easy.
However, if you're using a custom skin, you'll also have to upgrade that one. And that depends a lot on the skin.

We recommend not to upgrade custom skins until we reach "beta" stage.

is this latest version compatable with Microsoft frontpage 2000 with the FP extentions installed?

Why wouldn't it be compatible with Frontpage?

Great updates in 2.0. I love the new look. I have a question though. When I try to embed a video in my blog with an "object" tag it gives me an illegal tag error for "object". However, if I preview the post the video will show correctly. It seems like it should work but I can not "save" the post because of the illegal tag. Here's the code:
