My blacklist has suddenly stopped updating. I click to update, but it downloads an update I already have (with a page full of [already handled] mesages, but the time stamp of the latest update is newer than the one it is downloading).

I emptied the blacklist table and now it only downloads the one dated 2000-01-01 00:00:00

I just updated my 0.9.2 test installation without issue so I'm feeling pretty good that the central system is working properly. Have you been tinkering with any files in your blog, or perhaps your database in any way? Have you changed hosts recently? Can you go to your database and see what the "antispam_last_update" field in the evo_settings table is?

0.9.2, I upgraded on Tuesday. I'm pretty sure it was working. I re-installed the recheck hack that I had for 0.9.1.

Somewhere between then and now it stopped working, but the last update before I cleared the table was 03-07 I'm pretty sure.

antispam_last_update 2000-01-01 00:00:00 is the current setting.

I'll try reversing that hack and see if it works again...

Okay, removing the antispam rechecker hack has got the blacklist updating again... so there must be an issue with that. I cut and paste, so Im 99% that its not an error on my part - I'll have a look through the code to see if I can either spot and error or maybe a typo from me.

Cheers for taking the time to look at it though Ed.

It's the hack!!!

Assuming you're talking about my antispam rechecker hack, which is the only 'rechecker' hack I know of, then it is most likely the hack. Give me a bit of time and I'll update that hack to work with the new home of the antispam table.

Ed, It gets the first update, but not any subsequent updates. You still get the "you do not have the latest update" message, but when you update again it gets the same one with the "alreaady handled" messages.

Hmmm.... I just added the hack, assuming it's the same one, and did not have any trouble emptying my local table and pulling all the keywords again. Dunno why you had the problem with it.

That comes from your evo_settings table "antispam_last_update" field value. The way it's supposed to work is that each time you get an update the date and time of the last keyword is put into that table/value. Next time it starts from there which is why normally the first keyword is "not needed - already handled". So the problem appears to be that after you add the hack your evo_settings table isn't updating. Dunno why what would be though. I was briefly afraid that my hack directly accessed the OLD home of the antispam database, but 0.9.2 came out after that feature moved and I upgraded the hack to ...

Aha! Try this hack and see if it works for your 0.9.2 installation. There are subtle differences between it and the 0.9.1 version.
