Centralized antispam & pinging b2evolution.net

I am new with b2evolution.
I found this project accidently via Wikipedia. b2evolution looks interesting and promising.
It seems b2e would have "nearly everything" what I am looking for - out of the box! :)
Thanks for this application!

But I got concerned when reading this: http://b2evolution.net/about/terms-of-service

Now, before I start investing time with this app, I would like to know if it is possible to "switch off":

  • centralized antispam
    and
  • pinging e2evolution.net

If there is no "out of the box" "Off switch", where does the code need to be modified to remove these commands?

Background:
We are using Bot-Trap and CrawlTrack to protect our pages and I want to use these tools with b2evolution as well.
And I would like to avoid "b2evolution" analysing our website traffic. I assume your access.log is huge :D

In case I see or understand upper functions wrong. Then pls correct me.

I think you understand the functions wrong:

  • Centralized antispam allows you to obtain a black list of keywords to use from our servers. You don't have to download that list from us. By default it gets downloaded ever day. There is a scheduled task you can turn off.
  • pinging b2evolution.net asks b2evolution.net every 12 hours or so if there is a software update available. If there is a security issue it will display a red warning on your admin console.

None of these features analyses your traffic. None of these features fires on every request.

Do you want to change status from "Community" to "Public" - I'm sure this is interesting for non registered readers as well.
