We have a test site for HostMonster that you can access to check the speed and responsiveness of their servers.

My brother and I have 2 web sites with host monster
and can't seem to get any help from them, as well as
they are slow for upgrades with no email responce to help requests. My brother runs his own data base as i try to get a community going on mine. Stay away from host monster, just remember you get what you pay for. Pay a little more so when you need it you can get some support. With prices coming down you can get one for about 7 dallors with great tech help. The biggest problem with cheaper companies is the support that they will give you.

Im have 4 sites hosted with hostmonster and had found that the service they provide is great. They helped me setup mysql database to run one of my sites and if i have any problems i just contact them through live chat. Highly recommended:D

I love the features that this company has. The control panel is easy to use. I did not have any issues using this site or its features. They even have auto install programs like Web Calendar that I use and it works like a charm - there was no need for technical support. Albeit, I am an IT professional - for me, it was far easier. I called technical support once and the person I spoke to was very helpful. All companies, large or small, regardless of price are at the mercy of their employees. Let's face it we all work with some goof offs no matter where it is you are employed. The fact is Host Monster is inexpensive and they do have great features and they do provide support when needed. Taking these facts into account provides a wonderful service to those in need of it. Thanks HostMonster!

I host over 12 domains with them, problem is that every month they have like a day or two that there's a delay sending mails out and mail gets to its destination after 24-48 hours.
Other than that they are very good and very responsive.
They are the same company as BlueHost.com

If you had a selection above excellent I would select. Let me be clear, I do not give this rating easily. As a more than "computer geek" I have found Hostmonster to be one of the Internets best kept secrets. i am surprised when I tell people about them they had not heard of HOSTMONSTER. I presently handle some security and other aspects of computers and biometrics for many years, government and private sector. i have found a "live" person every time I needed to speak with someone about a problem. Not to mention they are here in America. Now I'm not against Global. I just have a preference. In addition The help is first class, not just a quick or I'm busy attitude. In addition the quality, speed, etc, etc. is the best I have seen. Period. I searched for over a year and tried at least three to four other hosting companies that were suppose to be major players. In some cases I could only communicate through the chat box or at worse e-mail. I hope others will voice their opinion that HOSTMONSTER IS THE BEST. In reference to the ill comments simply not true. Don't have to read them I can say with reading they are not true. PERIOD. I hope more people find out about HOSTMONSTER and realize what I did, that I was with the WRONG HOSTING SITE UNTIL I SWITCHED TO HOSTMONSTER. Keep up the excellent work.

I've been with them for a month or two, and they have been nothing less than great. Good support, and reliable hosting; two things they do well for a laughably low price.

I have been with Host Monster for over a year and a half! Their customer service is awesome! I am not sure what the other guy was talking about but there has never been a time when I couldn't get a hold of them either via live chat or on the phone.

I am a Web Designer and there service has helped me out greatly! I host all my clients sites on my hosting package 20 sites some with 10k unique visits a month no problems.

Anybody who says they suck! good luck finding a host with the same features with the same price... it just wont happen.

You get the storage and bandwidth (as far as I can tell) that they advertise, but they give you no CPU what so ever. If you use anything other than archaic HTML, such as CGI and PHP then you'll quickly find your site down for 'excessive CPU usage'. And that's coming from our low traffic tech site.

I am a Hostmonster customer. I have two sites with them. I have referred 3 other people to them. I love them.

My last hosting company always rushed me off the tech support line. I like talking to someone and knowing they are taking care of the problem.

I have called Hostmonster 2 times for some advanced changes that had to be made to the “A record” they stayed on the line with me until the problem was taken care of.

I didn't have to go through the “level one dummies” reading a script to get to the people who could really help me, the level one tech was very knowledgeable and helped me work through the problem. When the change required a level 2 tech authorization he didn't transfer me and make me have to tell the problem all over again, he took care of it all.

I have no complaints when it comes to host monster, they are awesome!!!!!

The price value realtion is simply the best in the market and I recommend them to anybody over my Website.

I host 2 domains with HM.

Also to remember is the independant, but great Forum where I could resolve almost all of my problems.
Some very competent Moderators there who are very helpfull.

Ironic that I'm typing these comments while waiting (again) over 45 minutes on hold and online chat for the "World Class" customer support team to find out why all of my websites are down for the third time this month.

I will say that two years ago HM was a dream come true. I always received awesome customer service that was timely, helpful, and enthusiastic. Over the last nine months, I agree with the previous post that the CS reps tend to brag about the number of sites they host and are constantly complaining about how stretched thin they are. I even had one CS rep send me a canned response inviting me to post my comments on the CEO's blog - Matt something or other. That blew me away.

HM level of customer service and reliabilty of service has reached an all time low. I was once and extremely satisfied customer and today I'm looking to move all of my sites to another provider.

Problems over the last nine months include:

Slow email - sending and receiving. The excuses I've been told are they have been hit with more spam lately than they have been able to filter and they are upgrade the email servers.

Site shut down for too many process requests. I'm told that when my sites are "busy" and there is too much traffic that multiple calls to SQL databases will shut me down. I guess I need a site with no traffic and HM would be perfect!

DNS failure - site receives HTTP 500 errors (three times this week alone). After nearly an hour in oline chat Wednesday I was told they were upgrade the Apache servers and I should be back online in 50 min.

Same problem today. I've now been on online hold in chat for 50 min. It's 10:53 AN my time and at 10:07 AM I was told "I'm Checking"....

Here's the CS Chat log:

Question: My sites are down for the third time this week. More upgrades? site: glbtradionetwork.com
Browser Information: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Comcast Install 1.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

Mitch [10:02]: Thank you for choosing Live Chat. My name is Mitch. If you have not already provided the Domain this issue is regarding, please do so now along with any additional details you feel I should have. We are extremly busy today, please be patient while I work on your issues. If you are in a rush please submit a ticket.
Christopher [10:02]: My sites are down for the third time this week. More upgrades? site: glbtradionetwork.com
[10:06]: I assume you're looking?
Mitch [10:07]: I am checking...

Well that says it all folks.

Hi,hostmonster is great EXCEPT that i have a big
problem with MySql database ,my fourm loses the
connection with the database from time to time
so that most of users left my forum ,i'm thinking
to leave hostmonster due to this big problem.
when i asked the support about this problem
they said it's a shared server and your forum
lose the connection with the database because
they are many running queieres on the server..
i will MOVE and find another webhosting with more
stable MySql database .

There have been problems a few weeks ago but they seem to be improving. This is what their CEO had to say:

"We have been having major problems since around December 20th. Bluehost and Hostmonster have been growing at an incredible rate. I believe we are now the fastest growing hosting company in the world. With that growth sometimes comes severe growing pains. [..] Many days we experienced more than 850 signups in a single day. That can wipe out even the best support departments! However, the real problem resulted from many forced upgrades that HAD to be done at this time. These upgrades were coupled with forced upgrades from Cpanel itself. [...] We have worked out most of these pressing problems that our customers have had to deal with, but I am sure there are more issues to still be resolved. Thanks for your patience, and for those that weren’t so patient I don’t blame you :) We have taken our lumps and are back on track to being the best hosting company in the world. [...] As CEO the buck stops here and so do the excuses. I will make things right!!"

am looking for a webhost.

my problem with all this feed back is -
1) have these issues been solved?
2) assuming they have - will they reoccur?
3) are they growing too fast for their own good?
4) are they really having financial problems and are just hiding behind excuses?
5) will they still be around in a years time?

I guess only time will tell, in the meantime I think my money goes elsewhere.

agreed - time will tell. it is the same company as bluehost whoch has been around since 1996! i don't think they have financial problems. if hosting companies get in trouble my take is that these will be one of the last to go down..

I am looking at finding a host at the moment and made an initial call to the sales department to ask some questions. The person I spoke to was not very helpful, just told me everything I needed to know was on their website. Based on this I am going with inmotion instead who had much better customer service.

like 'Shaun' said above, space and bandwidth are great.. CPU usage problem is so bad.

their support used to be great.. now their chat takes forever to get hold of someone.. their support also depends on who you get to talk to.. someone of them are really nice.. and some are 'yes, no, its your problem' type.

I have two accounts with them. I have a big project now and can't decide who to go to. Bluehost and hostmonster seem to be same company.

Gud luck
