Francois ,

I was just thinking about this - for the future releases of b2evo, it would be great to have granular permissions for the backoffice.

For a multi-user/multi-blog platform, we need b2evo to allow for granular access to the backend.

For example, as the site admin, I can give a blogger access to this stats page for his given blog, to adding users, to allowing uploads, to manage his comments, etc

I know some of this is already possible but it would be nice to have more control on each section of the backoffice.

I have performed an upgrade from 1.10.3 towards 2.4.1 without any problem. Of course you have to be well preprared, first doing the migration on a test platform, backup all files, database, … and last but not least selecting a 2.x skin.

Cheers, Jan

It is possible to upgrade from ANY older version of b2evolution to ANY newer version of b2evolution, straight.

The install/upgrade script will automatically detect which old version you are running and appropriately/selectively/automagically upgrade to current.

The only thing that you need to know is that skins for 1.x don’t work in 2.x without modifications. But 2.x comes with nicer skins anyway…

Nicole, once again, you are supposed to update all files since they have all been optimized for size and speed.

The only thing you don’t need to do btween 2.4.0 and 2.4.1 is the database upgrade as it will tell you “database is up to date".
