News from the b2 world

Permalink May 23, 2003 @ 23:32, by Francois Planque • Category: Community

Michel Valdrighi, the creator of the great b2, just posted some news today... after more than 6 months of silence... This is pretty good news to a lot of us who were getting really worried about him.

Welcome back to blogworld Michel! :) Hope you're doing fine despite your employment issues. :|

Regarding the future of b2, it seems that Michel plans to leave it up to WordPress, which is pretty good news too. WordPress seems all clean to me! ;)

What does that mean regarding my own b2evolution? Well... don't know precisely yet, except that I am running it here and that I still want more (much more:!:) than WordPress announces for their upcomming release... :P

Stay tuned ;)

DebAfter having tested both Wordpress and b2evolution for use in a weblog, I think the major difference between the two is that WP is being torn down and built back up, brick by brick, line by line. The developers for WP are updating and standardizing their code whereas b2evolution seems to be the original b2 bloated up with all of the hacks found in the forums carelessly tossed in, instead of making them integrated features.

It will take longer for Wordpress to begin adding all of the cooler features that bloggers seem to want, but when the features finally arrive, they will be clean and logical additions to the WP software...not hacks.

François PLANQUEDeb,

You obviously haven't looked at the code for b2evo. Still, I wonder: how can you be this wrong?? :))

By the way, there's not a single hack included in b2evo right now!
